Mar, 2003 : IBM, BellSouth Offer E-Business on Demand
📅 - Computer services company IBM (IBM.com) and communications carrier BellSouth (bellsouth.com) announced on Wednesday that they have formed an agreement to collaborate on the delivery of hosting and network services to business customers in the United States.
In addition to the marketing, sales, services and technology agreement, IBM will assume responsibility for BellSouth's e-business services customers served from the company's e-business centers in Atlanta and Miami. The majority of BellSouth's e-business customers will be transferred to IBM and provided with access to enhanced hosting and application services, from the same facilities. The e-business centers will be connected to IBM's global hosting infrastructure and will act as key hubs for the delivery of on-demand services in the southeastern US.
The companies also intent to jointly market IBM's e-business hosting services, jointly market IBM e-business on demand services to small and medium-sized business customers in the Southeastern United States and explore the possibility of joint product development with a focus on network services that can be delivered on demand.

"We've learned from countless customer engagements and market research that businesses want the flexibility to tap into infrastructure and applications when they need them. The new relationship draws on the strengths of both companies in the areas of network and hosting services to help customers grow their businesses in the new on demand era."
