Mar 13, 2003 : Telus Offers WebEx Web Meeting Services

📅 - Web communications services company WebEx Communications Inc. (webex.com) and Canadian telecommunications company TELUS Corp. (telus.com) announced on Thursday that they have teamed to provide WebEx meeting services to the Canadian market.

Combining the multimedia Web communications capabilities of the WebEx MediaTone Network with TELUS's teleconferencing service, says WebEx, TELUS is able to offer millions of customers an integrated Web communications service.
Called TELUS Web Conferencing, the new service uses the data and video communications capabilities of the WebEx MediaTone Network, specifically designed for high-speed Web communications. The TELUS service does not require any hardware investment or software implementation beyond a Web browser and a network connection. The service integrates with TELUS's audio conferencing, delivering a more complete solution.
"Teleconference meetings have become a standard part of business communications because they dramatically reduce travel costs and improve interaction with customers and partners around the world," said John Maduri, president of TELUS Business Solutions. "Because WebEx adds the critical visual element to remote communications, it allows our customers to cost-effectively expand the reach of their businesses to the global market. We selected WebEx because it is the only company with a global network and a scalable service designed to support our customers' international Web communications needs."
