Mar, 2003 : Blue Cross Blue Shield Picks Sprint Services


📅 - Communications carrier Sprint (sprint.com) announced this week that it has signed a multimillion-dollar communications services agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) allowing the association and its 42 independent, locally operated plans discount pricing on Sprint products and services.

Sprint says it will provide Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans and their affiliates a range of communications technologies, including domestic Sprint IP, Sprint DSL, Web hosting and collaborative services as well as enhanced and interactive toll-free services. The association also extended its Nationwide Volume program agreement for Sprint wireless services.
"Sprint's focused on providing integrated communication services to help the healthcare market enhance the patient experience and reduce overall expenses," said Stephen Rowley, vice president, Sprint Business - Central. "The Blues are implementing technology and services that will help it better serve the millions of families who look to the Blue Plans for their insurance needs. We are proud to work with BCBSA and the Blue Plans and look forward to assisting them in their objective to continue to provide quality, affordable healthcare."
