📅 - Communications carrier Level 3 Communications (Level3.com) announced on Thursday that it has appointed Sunit S. Patel as group vice president, and expects that he will succeed Sureel Choksi as chief financial officer in May of 2003, following the company's annual stockholders meeting.
Patel, says Level 3, was formerly chief financial officer of metropolitan telecommunications transport services provider Looking Glass Networks Inc. Before co-founding Looking Glass, Patel was treasurer of MCI WorldCom, WorldCom and MFS Communications from 1994 to 2000. He has extensive experience in financial planning, capital raising, capital allocation, budgeting, management reporting systems, risk management and mergers and acquisitions. "Sunit brings extensive telecommunications industry experience to this position, and I look forward to once again having the opportunity to work closely with him, as in our prior days together at MFS Communications," said James Q. Crowe, chief executive officer of Level 3.
