Mar, 2003 : StorageTek Launches New Storage Services

📅 March 17, 2003 - Storage solutions company StorageTek (storagetek.com) announced on Monday that it has launched a set of new managed storage services through its Global Services organization, including StorageTek Enterprise Support Services and StorageTek Remote Managed Storage.

The Enterprise Support Services, says StorageTek, focus primarily on the support, maintenance and management of customers' entire storage infrastructure from applications to the operating system and physical storage media. Comprised of hardware and software support and vendor management, Enterprise Support Services, are backed by an experienced support staff, well-defined problem escalation procedures and resolution methods, says StorageTek.
According to StorageTek, the new Remote Managed Storage service is aimed at helping customers operate complex environments, through the remote administration of various storage management tasks and functions. StorageTek says Remote Managed Storage simplifies complex storage management through consistent, proactive and predictive tools, processes and technologies, including storage infrastructure services and management of disk and volume services.
"Through Information Lifecycle Management, StorageTek is delivering solutions to manage information from the time it is created until the time it is deleted," said Angel Garcia, StorageTek corporate vice president, Global Services. "As more integrated technologies and complex systems are used to enable the movement of data, Global Service offerings such as Enterprise Support Services and Remote Managed Storage are designed for customers seeking a one-stop approach to simplifying the administration of their storage infrastructure."

(bcgi.net) announced on Friday that it has purchased a 93,000 square foot building in Bedford Massachusetts to serve as the company's redundant data center site.
