Aug, 2003 : Apptix Wins Sharepoint Services Contract

📅 August 19, 2003 - Apptix (apptix.com) announced today it has entered into an 18-month service agreement with Wachovia Securities, a U.S. brokerage and financial services firm, for Apptix's hosted Windows SharePoint Services.

Under the terms, Wachovia Securities will use Apptix's hosted collaboration solutions, based on the latest version of Windows SharePoint Services, to help the firm communicate and share documents.
"We selected Apptix's hosted Windows SharePoint Service because of its expertise in hosted applications, and its strong partnership with Microsoft," said Cindy Buckler, managing director of Wachovia Securities information technology. "The new hosted service will enable us to easily collaborate and share documents among different offices and locations, helping to increase our productivity."
According to the company, outsourcing the Apptix solution will be more cost-effective than an in-house deployment and is able to meet the needs of organizations of varying sizes.
"Apptix enables solutions that can be tailored to fit the needs of organizations of all sizes, from a dedicated enterprise solution, which we implemented for Wachovia, to our shared Apptix Windows SharePoint Services On-Demand solution," said Alex Hawkinson, CEO of Apptix. "We have seen significant market interest in hosted Windows SharePoint Services from small businesses to enterprise businesses, such as Wachovia. As we work with our service provider partners to roll out this solution on a broad basis, we expect to see significant uptake from all customer segments."
