Aug 20, 2003 : Opsware Appoints New Members to Board


📅 - Opsware Inc. (opsware.com) announced today the appointments of Mike Volpi and Mike Homer to its board of directors. Volpi is a senior vice-president at Cisco Systems (cisco.com) and Horner is chairman and CEO of Kontiki (kontiki.com).

"Mr. Volpi and Mr. Homer are wonderful additions to an already exceptional board of directors," said Ben Horowitz, president and CEO of Opsware. "Mr. Volpi's significant understanding of Fortune 2000 IT, gleaned from providing Cisco products to over 70% of the enterprise IT market, will be invaluable to us. Mr. Homer's experience and expertise in growing companies into industry leaders will be extremely important as we continue to lead the IT automation market."
Volpi is senior vice-president for the routing technology group at Cisco Systems. Prior to joining Cisco in 1994, Volpi worked with Hewlett-Packard's optoelectronics division.
Prior to joining Kontiki, Homer was a senior vice-president at American Online and held various executive positions with Netscape Communications.
Based in Sunnyvale, California, Opsware was formed in August 2002 after selling its Web hosting business to outsourcing giant EDS. It was previously known as Loudcloud Inc.
