😠 Very difficult to deal with the customer service team. No phone support, chat support also inept. Have just cancelled and ported service elsewhere. They used to be amazing. Do not waste your time and money.

😠 Globat ripped me off for over $700! I had been with them for 20 years and had no problems. I always paid 3 years in advance for service, and the average price was $300. I had a personal website, not commercial, so not that many people visited. But last Jan, I saw that Globat charged my Mastercard over $700 for 3 years. They never informed me that they had doubled their price. As a matter of fact, in the 20 years I was with them, I never received one single e-mail from them. So I had Mastercard put a stop on the $700. I contacted Globat to ask why my Bill was so high. They said that was their new price. I said, "you doubled my Bill without telling me?". They had no answer. But here's how the cheating bastards got me: At some pint they changed their policy without telling anyone. This new policy stated that customers must give 30 days notice before they will be charged. Be aware that my Bill wasnt even DUE for another week! 😠 This is a dirty, rotten, thriving company that relies on a total lack of transparency and the extreme difficulties of logging in, changing anything, etc to continue as a business. Every single chat I've had to try and resolve a problem results in an early charge of the item I was asking to cancel. Absolutely nothing is ever resolved, and trying to obtain a receipt for the many monthly charged that they cannot consolidate in any way, is impossible. They are horrible, avoid at all costs.

😠 I'm with globat since 2008. I also have requested my clients to take hosting plans from globat as I believed in their support.
This year, I cannot renew my hosting plan and they are repeatedly saying that I need to check with bank. Message displayed: "failed to authorise card."
I have wasted a whole day to the bank and everything is fine.
Globat cannot even explain how all my transactions being done with the same credit card with facebook or google as well as other merchants are working whereas theirs is failing each time.
They are sending cheap arguments through my mail.
Even though I have called their requested phone number, no one picks up the call and no one cares to revert back though Ive explained to them that they are unreachable.

My review is not just to call into question the negativity of many negative reviews we see but to offer a true and frank assessment of my experiences in dealing with what I would term one of the best hosting providers in the USA and Internationally. 😠 WARNING - this is a true story and if you skip it you have yourself to blame for using Fatcow or Globat for web hosting. So pissed am I that I´m even giving entering my e-mail address so you can be sure it is legit. Fatcow is Globat - when you call customer service you get the exact same people. Globat´s ratings have gone so far down the toilet that they are trying to fool people with a new name. 😉 I went with Globat on the recommendation of a friend. I did take issue with the "auto upgrade" charges but figured out how to opt out of them and I haven't been bothered with them since.

You get what you pay for. Globat is cheap therefore you are not going to get platnium service. They have been a decent service, but not spectacular. They changed control panel back in May and while I am able to follow it, the average non-techie person would have difficulties. The web space and quantities of emails are very good, however! You can also set variable sizes on each mailbox and chose how you want spam handled.

Recent Service Issues:

I tried to send a webmail to a friend and they refused to send it because I used a word that their filter didn't think was suitable. They shouldn't be filtering email.

They changed servers in May 2009 and I had some major issues trying to get my domain switched over and had problems with my email and web pages. That did get resolved thru the live [read more...]

😠 As a customer of Globat for numerous years, I finally grew tired of Globat's billing practices and shifted to another company. The control panel for a novice webmaster was difficult at best. The add-ons were pricey, but the final straw was that you were forced to opt-out of upgrades and renewals (account automatically charged if you didn't say no). There were still a number of charges after I had requested that the automatic renewals be stopped and I be contacted if/when charges for services my be due. What's truly funny........I cancelled services and transferred to another hosting company, only to find out that I was charged another automatic renewal fee of $145+ (only a portion of the upgrades, and more than the upgrades normally cost) when I was no longer even a customer of the company. In addition, Globat placed a pending charge for a renewal in 2010 for those same services and a 33% increase. 😠 -It is the worst web hosting every.
-Just like other last reviewer experienced, my website got hacked into and pretty much got shutdown by all the search engine right now. I am looking for a different company. I hosted my website for about 2 years now, in the past 2 years, they keep trying to charge me on my card for automatic upgrade service, happened 2 times, and almost 3… I had to email, call and cancel this stupid auto upgrade. They actually charge me if I ignore they spam email for the first 2 times. I was already at a point where I am about to leave...

😞 I hosted with them for abuot a year, no problems though I have a service that showed me for the long time how slow the bandwidth was. It was rated poor repeatedly, I sent emails after emails to complain but nothing was better. Then on top of that when I got a second domain name it was a nightmare to add it on the same server. Why should this be a problem? I have all this storage space that I will never used so why not. They use this bait and switch advertising that suggest another domain name is free but puttting it on the same server is not even though you're not using really any more extra space other than what is allocated to you and in fact I had to use a this flash to move it over to extentions to get it to work. Now someone hacked into my site and placed a virus on it and there are google ads that I did not authorize. WTF???!!! 😠 THEY STEAL MONEY !!!!

Yes they are thieves !!! I payed for a 3 year hosting. 2 months after that, they used my visa info, without telling me !!!!!!! to charge me for an "upgrade" that I never ask for !!!!!
When I complained, they told me they replied me saying that they had send me an email saying "if I don't deny the upgrade they will proceed in doing the upgrate and charging me" !!! That's only only crazy, it's also a lie because I never got an email like that.

I have noted some adverse reviews, which no doubt has alarmed me and prompted me to investigate all aspects of my dealings Globat LLC and its positive well known and established CEO, Mr. Ben Neumann. I became involved in website production, promotion, optimisation and marketing back in 2000. I am self taught - learned the hard way. I know what I am talking about at this stage of my existence. CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS all the time, and you'll find that Globat is charging you with all kinds of futures that you never wanted. They say No Hidden Charges, No add ons , but I found $50 charge for their stupid promopak software that i never needed,used, asked, wanted and definitely not ordered.

😁 I am not going to praise Globat here; I just want to tell you about my experience with this hosting provider. I have had 2 websites for a long time now, almost 7 years, and I have always been looking for the best provider. I am not the kind of guy who stays loyal to one and the same company just because it is cool to use a popular brand. Say I will never buy Nike shoes because I know I can buy the same quality 3 times cheaper but without a name. In the same way I was looking for a hosting provider not with a name but with a good price and decent services. I must say the best thing to decide whether a product is good or bad is to try it. 😞 I was with Globat for 4 years. The reason I was with them for so long was because I prepaid 2 years in advance for considerable discounts. I've since switched to another hosting company that offers better performance for roughly the same price.

My major beef with them is over performance. The servers are super slow and bandwidth wasn't all that great in my experience (remember - four years of this). I primarily used them for email, but once I began using the web space I really notice how slow it was (several seconds just to load a simple text page).

Customer service is also pretty bad. Every time there was a problem I'd receive the same scripted response. It was so bad I just stopped calling and let problems work themselves out.

😁 I liked Globat. It was my first web hosting experience, and I should say I thought I would have many problems with that... as I was mostly unaware of the process and never dealt with hosting before. However, Globat proved that everything is easy and quick. What I liked most, was low price of the services - in comparison to other companies.
Good job, guys! I am fully sattisfied.

😠 The Pits.

I have had to use an alternative e-mail address owing to unresolved problems and down times. The download speeds have slowed to 30k/sec on a good day. My site contains large downloadable files so sending smoke signals would be more effective than using Globat. Customer support consists of sending the same one-size-fits-all form e-mail stating that they are "aware of the problem" with no useful information or timetable. The service continues to deteriorate with each passing month.

😠 RUN AWAY! I have submitted emails, help tickets and even tried the online chat and have yet to hear from ANYONE? I have tried to cancel my account for three months. Now I am trying desparately to move my domain name and I do not even have access to that info. God-willing I will be done with this company before they try to automatically renew my account. RUN from this host!

😠 The web design software was awful and extremely limited. Speed was slow. It was really a billing scam where periodically your credit card was billed for "upgrades" without your authorization. I have requested refunds and cancellation. We'll see what happens....

😠 At first, I thought it couldn't get any worse, then when it did, I thought this is as bad as it can be, then they proved me wrong again.
Globat seems like a great value. As long as you don't ever need tech support and you don't mind sporatic email interuptions.
But that isn't the worst of it. They charged my credit card for an extra service 2 months ago that I never ordered. After calling BanglaPakIndianesia, a couple of times, they gave me my money back. Fine.
Then this week they charged me again! I'm calling to get my money back, AGAIN and then calling a different web hosting company.

😠 I saw their "free hosting" ad on the million dollar homepage. Asked, then they said I need to Mail them the order, not E-mail, but Mail. I sent the Mail, they refuse to open the account, and kept persuading me to go for paid hosting. At last they opened the account, and their server's like...reboots 6 times a day. Pure horrible!

😠 These people are the scum of the earth. They will take any opportunity to apply fees to your account, whether you've fulfilled the ridiculous fine print on their contract or not, and then send your account to predatory collection agencies when you do not comply.

Do not purchase at any cost. I wish I had read a little more about them before I got tied up with this cowboy outfit.

😠 Do not purchase server space from Globat web hosting service!

Glob@t practices what I consider to be unfair business methods. If you sign up for a year, you will find that at the end of that year, without so much as a renewal letter, they will bill you for an additional year. A couple of days later, they will cut off your service.

If you call them to cancel, they will not communicate that there is only ONE way to cancel, to use their cancellation request form. You will think that you are officially cancelled.

Six months later, without so much as sending you a bill, they will submit you to collections, for the amount of $267.45. Glob@t’s rate is $94.45/year.

Furthermore, their server is constantly down. They tout a transfer rate of 80-120k, and it is actually below 40k. Their technical support is horrible. Their trouble tickets, in my opinion, are as worthless as spam. Business web hosting and ecommerce with this company is not affordable web hosting if they lack [read more...]

😠 I finally quit Globat after almost 2 years of hosting with them. Their server is down most of the time. If it is not down, it is usually very slow. And email are virtually not existing!

The worst part is if you have any problem, forget about the customer support, since they will not response to you if you problem seems 'difficult' for them.

I am shocked that Globat are so terrible. I have finally make up my decision to quit.

😠 BAIT AND SWITCH! BAIT AND SWITCH!



When I signed up for service with globat, the sales rep told me that my download speeds would range between 80-120k

I have NEVER gotten above 40K EVER!

I have tried at all times of the day from at least 5 different networks, all with the same painful results.

after waiting on support chat for 45 min the support rep "cindy" told me that it's just the way it is. and that sales DOES NOT quote bandwidth.

so I called up the sales dep while I was still in the chat room with cindy, Brian in sales told me that the download speed was 100Mbits!! from 80-120k to 100Mbits?

I told that to the support rep and she basically sluffed me off and told me to contact the help desk.


DO NOT USE GLOBAT, THEY USE THE BAIT AND SWITCH scam

😠 Globat is horrible. They acquired Entity Hosting which is equally bad...they are non existent when it comes to customer service. They have been double and triple billing me for months -- and getting it, because I was stupid enough to allow them to 'ding' my account each month.

If you're considering hosting...don't use these guys.

They've been impossible to reach via phone, trouble ticket and email for weeks now.

I'm so disgusted with them it's hard to describe.

Don't fall for the hype of their website...it's just a front for a billing scam.
