📅 March 31, 2004 - CustomDotNet LLC (custom.net) announced Wednesday that it has completed construction of its new data center, built to accomodate an increasing need for colocation services. The data center has been built with non-rack mounted equipment, and has more than 40 new cabinets available for customer's rack mounted equipment.

Investment group Kramer, Ceilley and Associates, along with Cyberlink Technologies formed CustomDotNet last year to meet the demands of a hosting trend it recognized to be moving toward more affordable colocation services as the dedicated server market flourishes. CustomDotNet aims to give new hosting companies that want to enter the dedicated server market, the opportunity to compete against the current dedicated server companies, which it believes have been dominating the market the past few years.
"We have been seeing the trend over and over, where hosting customers desire more power for their sites and end up transferring their sites over to dedicated servers in an effort to increase server performance and avoid technical entanglements associated with shared hosting," says Jay Kramer, president of CustomDotNet LLC
Colocation services start at $39.95 with bandwidth and remote administration.

The Internet Traffic Observatory will be made up of a network of 50 nodes distributed throughout Europe.
