Mar, 2004 : Mirror Image Delivers Funimation Content

📅 March 30, 2004 - FUNimation Productions, a home video distribution company, has selected Mirror Image Internet's (mirror-image.com) content delivery, streaming media and Web computing solutions to bring its popular animated series online. Mirror Image said the deployment of its technology has allowed FUNimation to reduce infrastructure costs and increase site traffic speed by 30 percent.

"FUNimation is a great example of how Mirror Image partners with customers to help solve site speed and performance issues, in addition to identifying other business areas where Web computing provides value," says Frank Brilliant, vice president of sales and marketing at Mirror Image. "Our technical infrastructure coupled with sophisticated Web site consulting has enabled FUNimation to optimize its sites while focusing on the bottom line."
FUNimation's many Web sites, including one for the popular Dragon Ball Z television show on the Cartoon Network, handles over eight million hits per day and over 800,000 unique visitors per week.

Cogent said the assets were acquired through a merger with Symposium Omega, Inc., who acquired the network from GLH GmbH, a German company who acquired the Carrier1 assets after it filed for bankruptcy.
