Apollo Hosting says it began looking for a new anti-spam solution when it realized that re-negotiating its current anti-spam software contract would be too expensive and bad for its clients. The implementation of CanIt-Pro at Apollo Hosting began when its president, Tamara Field saw the solution in action for another company.
"Once Roaring Penguin's CanIt was running on our own systems we realized it was definitely the right choice," says Don McLeman, VP of operations at Apollo. "Before switching to CanIt, 50 to 70 percent of my staffs' time was spent getting servers white-listed and handling customer complaints in regards to spam. 1.4 to 1.8 million messages a day are filtered. With a success rate of 97 percent, CanIt-Pro is far superior to our old product."
Apollo Hosting is running CanIt-PRO on Redhat Linux servers as part of its MailBoxCop spam and virus filter. Clients can have MailBoxCop applied to all email addresses in each of their domains, for a what Apollo calls a small fee.
