📅 October 13, 2006 - Digital optical networks provider Infinera (infinera.com) announced on Thursday it has named Carl Redfield to its board of directors. Redfield brings his past operating experience to Infinera as the company continues to grow to capitalize on worldwide demand for Infinera's optical networking solutions based on photonic integration.
Carl Redfield is senior vice president at Cisco Systems where he ran worldwide operations for over 10 years. At Cisco, he oversaw the company's growth from $400 million to over $20 billion in annual revenue and led the development of a virtual manufacturing model. He also serves on the boards of Cincinnati Bell and VA Software. Redfield joins outside directors, which includes Alex Balkanski of Benchmark Ventures, Greg Galanos of Mobius Ventures, Ken Goldman, former CFO of Siebel Systems, Vinod Khosla of Kleiner, Perkins, Caulfield and Byers, Hugh Martin, former CEO of ONI Systems, Dr. Dan Maydan, president of Emeritus of Applied Materials, and Dr. Pradeep Sindhu, founder and CTO of Juniper Networks.
