Nov, 2003 : NetBenefit, NTL Home Sign Partnership Deal
📅 - NetBenefit (netbenefit.co.uk -> netbenefit.com), a UK-based provider of Web hosting services, said today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with NTL Home (ntlhome.com), a UK-based Internet service provider, to offer domain name registration services to NTL Home's customers through ntlworld.com, NTL Home's Internet portal.
"Portals are increasingly wanting to offer value-added services to customers and we are pleased to be able to bring our domain name business direct to ntlworld," said Geoff Wicks, CEO of NetBenefit. "The agreement with NTL Home further consolidates our position as the UK's market leader in domain names, giving us access to an additional 1.4 million customers."
The company said the service will target NTL Home's 911,000 broadband customers who according to research by NTL Home, are twice as likely to sign up for Web hosting than dial-up customers.
"Domain names are an essential tool for anyone wanting to set up a Web site, be it a hobby site or a family homepage. Our partnership with NetBenefit gives us the opportunity to extend our service offering to our ntlworld users, and I'm sure it will be well received," said Ashley Middleton, head of portal management at NTL Home. "The domain names service compliments our existing NTL Web space area which is designed to help our Internet customers make the most of the 55MB of free Web space we provide."
Netbenefit signed a similar deal with Freeserve, the UK's largest Internet service provider, early this year.
