Feb, 2004 : Marathon Secures $8.8 Million Investment

📅 - Marathon Technologies (marathontechnologies.com), a developer of fault- and disaster-tolerant solutions for Windows environments, announced late last week that it has secured an $8.8 million investment.

The company said the funds will be used to bolster the company's sales, marketing and business development efforts.
Marathon said the funding will also support the ongoing development of its newly launched Endurance VirtualFT server software product line. Endurance Virtual FTserver software unites two unmodified industry-standard servers into a single, fully redundant configuration that appears to applications, networks, OS, and system administrators as a single fault tolerant server. The company said Endurance Virtual FTserver software is the industry's first solution that protects standard Intel based servers from downtime due to faults, failures, and disasters.
According to Marathon, the company is sharply focused on the mid-level server market.
"This investment, along with both our recent significant OEM agreement with Fujitsu Ltd., and large distribution contract with Sumisho Electronics, are strong validation of our new product offering as well as our strategy of focusing on the fast-growing entry-to mid-level server market," said George C. Tranos, president and CEO of Marathon Technologies Corporation.
