👈 Official Responses: 0) announced today the launch of its "Open for Business" promotion, offering small business owners in the Detroit metro and Ann Arbor areas a free year of Web hosting.

In order to qualify for the promotional offer, businesses must not currently have a Web site and be able to prove that they were established after January 1, 2003.
The offer is available for the first 250 qualified businesses that apply and is valued at a minimum of $250, based on prices for a Hostway Gold Plus Web hosting package.
Hostway said the promotion, which expires March 31, 2004, is designed to encourage entrepreneurship and the growth of new businesses.
"Hostway is giving Detroit and Ann Arbor area start-ups the online equivalent of an 'open for business' sign," said John Lee, marketing director for Hostway. "We strongly believe that every business needs a Web site - especially new businesses - and we're happy to make it easier than ever for local entrepreneurs to join the Internet revolution through our offer of free hosting services."
Hostway said Detroit was chosen because statistics show it is one of the top metro areas supporting small business in the United States.
The company said it is piloting the program in Detroit and Ann Arbor and plans to bring it to other cites throughout the year.
"At Hostway, we want to make sure today's new companies and their customers have access to the newest technology," said Lee. "This offer, and similar promotions in other major cities, is a step toward achieving the larger goal of a Web site for every business in America."
