Feb 11, 2004 : Springboard Picked to Host ClickCom

📅 February 11, 2004 - Data center and managed hosting provider Springboard Managed Hosting (springboardhosting.com) announced on Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with Web hosting provider ClickCom (clickcom.com) to host its core infrastructure.

Under the terms of the three-year deal, valued at approximately $200,000, Springboard will provide Clickcom with a dedicated cage supporting more than 100 servers out of its 12,000 square-foot data center facility in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"It's a win-win situation for both companies," said Gary McAuliffe, general manager of Springboard. "This deal shows that even Web service firms are realizing that Springboard's highly engineered data center provides a level of redundancy and local support that cannot be matched regionally."
Clickcom, based in Charlotte, said it wanted to find a reliable, local provider and decided on Springboard after considering several local companies. Springboard operates data centers in Cary and Charlotte, North Carolina.
"We felt we could gain more redundancy, realize a larger return on our investment and focus more attention on our hosting customers if we chose an outsourced data center company," said John DiCristo, chief executive officer of ClickCom. "Springboard handles the core infrastructure, which allows my staff more time to focus on our Web development and shared Web hosting efforts."
