📅 February 10, 2004 - Telecommunications and Web hosting provider XO Communications (xo.com ) announced on Monday that it has appointed Ernest Ortega as president of carrier sales.

Ortega will head XO's newly formed carrier sales group, which the company has established to strengthen the company's focus on the carrier market.
"Ernest has proven abilities to energize people and develop successful sales strategies that drive revenue growth," says Carl Grivner, chief executive officer of XO Communications. "The establishment of our new carrier sales group demonstrates our growing success in this market, and we're looking to Ernest to lead XO to even greater success."
Ortega was previously the vice president of national accounts at XO. Prior to joining XO, Ortega held various sales management positions with MCI.
