📅 March 3, 2004 - European colocation provider TeleCity (telecity.com -> equinix.com) announced on Tuesday that it has entered into a partnership with ManagedStorage International (msiservice.com), a provider of data management solutions, to offer its customers 24/7 data protection services. The company said the partnership addresses the growing demand of businesses for remote, off-site storage of critical data.

According to TeleCity, the new services, RemoteStor and ColoStor, support a wide range of applications and operating systems, providing off-site data protection at costs considerably lower than in-house solutions.
"Businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the value of their data, and that they need to implement proper strategies in order to protect this valuable asset," says Ricky Hudson, CEO of TeleCity. "New statutory regulations are also increasing the necessity for organizations in the private and public sectors to demonstrate that they have effective data backup and storage systems in place. We are delighted to be working alongside the industry's leading managed storage company, ManagedStorage International, to provide our customers with these premium services."
TeleCity said that it is now able to offer fully managed remote and on-site backup and restore services from its data center facility in London. The services will be launched across Europe later in the year, beginning in Manchester and Dublin.
The company reported that it has already signed up a public sector customer for the service.
