May, 2003 : TeleCity Signs Three-Year Hosting Agreement

telecity.com logo📅 - TeleCity (telecity.com), a pan-European data center services company, announced yesterday the signing of a three-year agreement with Karolinska University Hospital, one of Sweden's leading medical institutions, to host and manage the complete outsourcing of their IT infrastructure.

Under the terms of the agreement, Karolinska has leased its own dedicated suite in the Telecity facility and has purchased a multi-gigabit link between TeleCity's data center and their own facilities.
"The Karolinska Hospital is one of Europe's most prestigious medical institutions and we are very proud that they have chosen to outsource their IT infrastructure to TeleCity," said Rick Hudson, TeleCity's CEO. "This agreement is further evidence of our ability, and credibility, in being able to offer data center and IT infrastructure services to the public sector."
The agreement is the result of a decision made by The Karolinska Hospital to take back management of their IT applications and hardware from third party vendors and replace them with a single IT outsourcing partner. The company says TeleCity was chosen from a list of six suppliers.
"Applications that were earlier managed by external suppliers are now being managed by our own teams," said Johan Gillström, IT Director at the Karolinska Hospital. "We decided, however, that we wanted to outsource the hardware platform for our entire IT infrastructure leaving the team free to focus on operating the systems. TeleCity demonstrated that they could meet all our needs for hosting and data center requirements extremely well."
