Mar 23, 2004 : Enclave Acquires Data Center Property
📅 - Enclave Properties (enclaveproperties.com), a real estate owner and operator of data center properties, announced today that it has acquired a property at 115 Second Avenue in Waltham, Massachusetts. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Enclave, backed in the deal by real estate and development company New England Development, said it plans to divide the acquired building into multiple, private data center suites.
According to Enclave, the property, comprising 70,000 square feet, was chosen because of the high quality of construction and data center infrastructure and its proximity to communications networks. The property was previously a network hub and data center for a broadband network and services provider.
"We are developing multi-tenant data centers that provide all of the cost benefits of a shared data center, but which give customers 100 percent control of their own private data center suite," says G. Gabriel Cole, CEO of Enclave Properties. "Our business model is based on providing the components of a Tier IV data center, while enabling customers to purchase services from a range of network and value-added services providers."
Enclave said it is planning further acquisitions of assets in Boston and other key US markets.
