Jun 7, 2004 : New Target Acquires Towers Internet
📅 - Web services firm New Target Inc. (newtarget.com), today announced its acquisition of Towers Internet Consulting, appointing Irve Towers as chief technology Officer.
"Irve is a tremendous leader and will help us solidify and expand our hosting offering, laying the foundation for future growth," says New Target president and CEO, Laura Machanic. As the founder of Hub Internet Services, Towers played a primary role in the company's acquisition by CAIS Internet (now BtN). He will be responsible for further developing and managing New Target's hosting division and related assets, in addition to the company's technical vision and direction. Among his duties include the evaluation of client technical requirements, the provisioning of hardware and software for hosting environments, and directing New Target's own internal technical processes. Towers started his career at IBM in 1973, where he was the three-time winner of the coveted IBM Means Service award, before he founded Hub Internet Services in 1994. Prior to joining Target, Towers formed and managed Towers Internet Consulting, LLC, which was acquired by New Target in April.
