Aug 29, 2007 : DR Fortress Upgrades Facility

📅 - Colocation and Internet exchange provider DR Fortress (drfortress.com) announced on Tuesday that it has completed a $5 million renovation to its data center at Honolulu International Airport in Hawaii.

DR Fortress says it has redesigned the facility to offer more power and cooling capabilities as well as upgraded server and networking equipment.

The upgraded 21,300-square-foot facility provides companies with local connections to major Internet service providers serving Hawaii, including Hawaiian Telecom and Pacific LightNet, as well as a place to outsource network traffic, enabling businesses to increase Web site access speeds and cut costs as a result of using a shared infrastructure.

"The expansion was necessary to meet the underserved needs of the Hawaii market," says Fred Rodi, president of DR Fortress. "Staying in business today means being online and accessible all day, every day. Companies are realizing this requires boarding your servers in a purpose-built data center."
