Mar 31, 2005 : Microsoft Updates Windows Server 2003
📅 - Software giant Microsoft (microsoft.com) released a major security upgrade for the Windows Server 2003 operating system on Wednesday. The update, reports say, adds additional security tools to the platform, including some that were featured in Windows XP Service Pack 2, an upgrade to Microsoft's desktop operating system. One of the new security features is a tool that blocks all incoming traffic to a server until the most current updates are installed or when the administrator decides this is necessary. Microsoft has also made it easier for users to manage their security options with the addition of a security configuration wizard.
Released amid much fanfare in April of 2003, Windows Server 2003 was billed as the company's most secure product ever.
