Apr, 2001 : Interliant Offers INIT Managed Firewall Service

📅 - Interliant Inc. (http://www.interliant.com), a leading global application service provider, announced on Tuesday the availability of its INIT Managed Firewall Service, designed to protect organizations of all sizes against malicious security attacks.
The company's new service is based on Check Point Software's VPN-1/FireWall-1 security solution. And along with announcing the new service, Interliant also announced that it had joined the Check Point Partner Alliance as a premier managed service provider, giving its clients access to an enormous number of Check Point-certified security engineers.
The INIT Managed Firewall Service will allow clients to add industrial-strength security to their hosted solutions. The service includes set up and installation, 24x7 monitoring and management, logging and reporting, policy management, firewall updates and quarterly performance audits and tuning. Along with the new managed firewall, Interliant has an existing array of security services, including vulnerability assessment and intrusion detection services, authentication services and secure VPN design, implementation and management.
The company says the fact is constantly being reinforced that hackers still pose a threat to e-business. But, says Interliant, most companies are unable to develop and maintain the security infrastructure necessary to counter the threat, as decision makers find themselves "taking acceptable risks" in order to combat the growing costs of information security.
According to Interliant, its managed firewall service allows businesses access to top-of-the-line security solutions within an acceptable cost structure. The product is offered for an implementation cost and a pre-determined monthly fee, and includes a custom firewall solution, monitoring and upgrades designed to counteract the changing security threats.
Interliant says the solution is designed to offer customers a quality security program and peace of mind, so they can focus in their core business.
