Digex to provide managed hosting for automotive services site

📅 April 16, 2001 - Digex Inc. (digex.com), a leading provider of managed Web hosting and application hosting services, announced on Monday that AutoVista, a technology provider for the automotive services industry had chosen Digex to provide managed Web hosting services for its Web initiatives.
AutoVista provides consulting and tools to the automotive aftermarket industry. One of the company's web-based services, AutoVista Color, is a color information, management and communication application for the automotive paint industry designed to be distributed to repair workers, distributors and field personnel. The company's other services include a business network, Auto VistaNet.com, which brings together the automotive services industry's relevent information to one point on the Web, and AutoVista Claims Platform, which provides the insurance companies, appraisers and repair facilities with a means to reorganize and improve claims via the Internet.
AutoVista's site is built on a Compaq Proliant platform, running Windows 2000 with multiple fail-over firewalls. The technology configuration is supported by Digex's SmartServices plan, a comprehensive suite of managed hosting services, including enhanced security, backup, reporting, administration and monitoring services.
According to AutoVista, the company feels that by hosting its site with Digex, AutoVista can be sure that its site will be available and secure, and that the company can scale without having to install new hardware.
Digex says it is pleased to be working with AutoVista, a company it feels is using the Internet to invent new modes of services.
