Apr, 2001 : Exodus announces premium onsite engineering services

📅 - On Tuesday, Exodus Communications Inc. (http://www.exodus.com), a leader in complex Internet hosting and managed services, in cooperation with Amdahl Corporation, a Fujitsu company, announced the availability of its Premium Care Service as part of its managed service offerings.
The Premium Care Service is designed to provide Exodus customers with telephone and Web-based customer support, onsite certified engineers, dedicated service delivery managers and other assurances of quality management and maintenance of hardware assets. With the help of Amdahl, Exodus will provide field-engineering services in Exodus Internet data centers around the world.
Exodus says that a study by analyst firm the Gartner Group, the average rate of remote resolution for a data center is 44%, and average response time is 4.3 hours. According to Exodus, the study also points out that most service level agreements do not promise problem resolution. In response to the need for assurance, Exodus's Premium Care Service promises a 30-minute response time and return to service in four hours.
The company says e-businesses know that downtime can result in a loss of potential customers. And adds that Exodus's services allow customers to maximize their performance without a significant investment in IT resources.
Amdahl says it has been providing high quality field services to data centers for more than 30 years, and is pleased to be providing its InfraCare global services to Exodus.
In addition to the Premium Care Service, Exudus also offers online access to inventory data, service history and trouble ticket status through its myExodus Web portal.
The company is now offering its Premium Care Service at all Exodus's North American data centers. The service will be available in Europe beginning in August 2001, and Asia pacific from November 2001.
