Dec 9, 2005 : Special .travel Registration to End

📅 - Domain name registrar NamesBeyond (namesbeyond.ca) announced on Thursday that the reservation process for over six million place names in the .travel domain will expire on December 31, 2005.

Over six million reserved place names, including the names of cities, towns, heritage sites, pilgrim centers, sacred sites, national parks and preserves, are reserved exclusively for authorized bodies. Names like "Montreal.travel" and "Toronto.travel", are some of the most valuable names.

The special reservation process, conducted in coordination with Tralliance (tralliance.com), enables authorized agencies to ensure that important city, town, heritage and sacred site names are not taken by private entities.

"NamesBeyond understands that government agencies and authorized organizations have many demands on their time, especially during this holiday season," says Uma Murali, president of NamesBeyond. "Our convenient reservation process, acceptance of payments via check or a purchase order process, and trained support executives allows government agencies to reserve their place names well ahead of the expiration deadline of December 31, 2005."
