📅 December 8, 2005 - Web hosting provider Apollo Hosting (apollohosting.com -> verio.com) announced on Wednesday it is offering an email filtering service, courtesy of its newest partner, Barracuda Networks (barracudanetworks.com). The service blocks any incoming threats to a user's inbox, including spam, viruses and spyware.

Apollo Hosting says it was seeking a powerful, flexible filtering system and decided on the Barracuda solution for its tagging, quarantine and full blocking services. Users can completely configure these services and have access to customizable white and blacklists.

"Barracuda's filtering solution provides a greater amount of options for our customers than our previous solution," says Tamara Field, president of Apollo Hosting. "Customers want more choice, and we're constantly examining ways to bring it to them. Barracuda is just one example."

Barracuda's enterprise-grade filter is instantly kept current against the latest threats, such as viruses targeting the recently revealed Sony DRM software.
