May 4, 2006 : SWsoft Upgrades PEM Hosting Software

📅 May 4, 2006 - Web hosting software developer SWsoft (swsoft.com) announced on Thursday that it has released an upgrade of its Plesk Enterprise Manager, PEM version 2.5, for use by telecom carriers, large ISPs and large Web hosting providers.

According to SWsoft, several of the company's new customers, including Reliance Infocom and ExchangeMyMail have deployed the upgraded application and service platform, which includes more than 50 enhancements, including several features developed in direct response to customer feedback.

"SWsoft takes a partnership approach so PEM adopters can provide input to our development process," says Doug Johnson, senior product manager for solutions, SWsoft. "PEM 2.5 incorporates several features that we developed on behalf of our partners so they could configure the platform to deliver a broader combination of differentiated services."

New additions to the core PEM solution include new features for both Linux and Windows shared hosting, enhanced support for hosted Microsoft Exchange, better integration with SWsoft's Virtuozzo virtualization software, improved system architecture and improved customization.

In April, SWsoft kicked off a student Web design contest in collaboration with Microsoft, Dell and Web host Dotster.
