Sep 18, 2006 : IBM Hosts Finnish Food Company Site

📅 September 18, 2006 - IBM (IBM.com) announced on Friday it has been chosen by Finnish catering services provider Fazer Group (fazergroup.com) to provide the development, maintenance and Web hosting of Fazer Group's MySAP systems.

Fazer Group operates in three divisions: Fazer Amica, Fazer Bakeries and Candyking, in nine countries including the Nordic and Baltic states, Russia and the UK. The project will create a standardized IT platform that is easy to manage and distribute between the company's different divisions. IBM says the common platform is a flexible IT solution to accommodate changes in the market, growth and the further internationalization of the group's business operations. In addition, IBM says it will provide Fazer Group with measurable and tangible synergy benefits within IT management as well as cost reductions.

"In the growing global consumer goods industry, having the right foundation in place to improve communications between your employees, suppliers and retail partners is vital," says Johan Sandell, IBM country general manager in Finland. "Fazer's work with IBM will enable them to focus on their core competencies while building a unified platform to grow their business. IBM will leverage both our deep consultative and technical expertise in the deployment of this project."

IBM will support the unification and development of Fazer Group's business processes and applications by providing new solutions based on MySAP technology. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the annual value of the agreement is in the range of several million euros.
