Jan 27, 2009 : Datasite Orlando Hires Biz Dev Manager
📅 - The 130,000 square foot purpose-built data center, DataSite Orlando (datasiteorlando.com), has added Eric Blomquist to its leadership team as business development manager for the large-scale data center.
According to DataSite Orlando's Tuesday announcement, Blomquist will be responsible for driving sales and generating business at the south Orlando facility owned by BURGES Property + Company (burgesprop.com). With more than 17 years of sales experience, Blomquist brings a specialized focus on providing proven IT solutions to organizations in the corporate, government and educational sectors.
Prior to joining DataSite Orlando, Blomquist worked for data storage and data protection technology company EMC (emc.com), where he was responsible for sales in the Central Florida market. According to the DataSite Orlando release, before EMC, Blomquist previously worked as a "subject matter expert" at business continuity and IT disaster recovery solutions provider SunGard (sungard.com), where he was responsible for representing SunGard's capabilities and consulting practices across the southeast US.
Blomquist has also held positions at IT management software, services and solutions provider Computer Associates (ca.com) as well as plumbing and building supplier Ferguson Enterprises (ferguson.com).
In September, DataSite Orlando appointed 10-year data center veteran Ken Sanders general manager just weeks prior to the site's official opening.
Originally announced in August, DataSite Orlando opened its doors to its first tenant, Infinitum Technologies, earlier this week. Orlando-based Infinitum provides hosting and virtualization solutions through its RapidVPS and WaveColo divisions.
