📅 - IT companies Global Knowledge (globalknowledge.com) and Firefly (fireflycom.net) announced on Monday they have partnered to provide data center education and consulting solutions to Cisco (cisco.com) channel partners and customers.
According to the press release, the companies' consulting and training services will span the "entire new technology lifecycle, from early adoption to late market maturity."
Global Knowledge provides IT marketing, sales, instruction and training course delivery tools and techniques, to drive the market for converged data center virtualization training solutions.
Firefly targets its services to manufacturers and channel partners that are engaged in developing and delivering new products, mentoring early adopter customers and their channel partners.
"We've launched a 'one world' alliance with Firefly," says Joseph Cece, Global Knowledge president and CEO. "It's a connection that recognizes the talent, infrastructure, and commitment required to enable the use of cross-functional and interoperable technologies that empower the success of our customers."
The strategic alliance is designed to help manufacturers, resellers, customers and educators to work together throughout the technology lifecycle, especially in the innovator and early adopter stages.
In particular, the partnership is meant to help these companies "achieve a solid grasp of their mutual goals," says Firefly CEO Pat Bodin.
Currently, Global Knowledge and Firefly are collaborating on the design and development of integrated virtualization solutions training from Cisco and VMware.
Last week, Cisco announced that it will soon be entering the server market, following its reported $150-million stake in server virtualization software developer VMware.
Global Knowledge and Firefly will be exhibiting at Cisco Networkers 2009 in Barcelona, Spain.
