Jan 5, 2009 : Aflexi Offers New CDN Platform
📅 - Malaysian content delivery network provider Aflexi (aflexi.net -> fasthosts.co.uk) announced on Monday it has launched its new website, a new red logo, and a new "collaborative" content delivery management solution and service.
According to the press release, the CDN service enables web hosts and content distributors to provide "high performance, scalable and secure content distribution at extremely competitive pricing."
The press release goes on to say that Aflexi's new software and network of data centers enables a web host or content provider to "expand their service offerings and cost-effectively deliver an unlimited amount of high and standard definition video, music, graphics and other large digital objects to consumers and businesses through the world."
"Web hosts and content providers can now compete with the big CDNs and telecoms," says Whei Meng Wong, CEO of Aflexi. "For only $150 a month, content providers and web hosts can now build a customized worldwide or regional CDN network. This network is designed to deliver traffic for as low as $0.008 per gigabyte."
The Aflexi technology can manage and optimize website traffic across various ISPs and their POPs. ISPS and web hosts are also more resistent to downtime with Aflexi because it uses a network of ISPs and does not rely on a single network or just a few providers like other CDN providers.
Aflexi's back-end system monitors traffic patterns and visitor profiles, enabling the software to make any adjustments in real time to ensure the highest possible delivery speeds and data quality.
In the event that a specific server or network is overloaded, the Aflexi system automatically reroutes incoming and outgoing traffic to the next available ISP, server or POP, says the company.
The Aflexi solution will instantaneously recognize the peak demand of a website and add additional servers and POPS to the network to handle the increased traffic.
Aflexi develops and provides content delivery solutions for ISPs and content distributors worldwide, offering CDN solutions designed for high traffic websites.
In other CDN news, CDN provider Limelight Networks announced in October it is reworking its CDN software for Microsoft after its February patent lawsuit loss to competing CDN provider Akamai.
