Dec 16, 2008 : iland Buys Colo Space at CRG West

📅 December 16, 2008 - Hosted cloud services provider iland Internet Solutions (iland.com) announced on Tuesday it has signed a license for colocation space in CRG West's (crgwest.com) Wilshire Annex data center in Los Angeles.


The announcement follows CRG West's recent customer wins, which includes the additions of International Derivatives Clearing Group to its Chicago data center, and InfoSpace to its Northern Virginia facility.

iland also recently opened its own data center in Dallas, which includes redundant VMware infrastructure with advanced disaster recovery and networking capabilities.

This latest Phase 1 CRG West expansion encompasses approximately 1,500 square feet with future plans to expand within the facility.

The agreement also expands on iland's colocation footprint in the California market, complimenting existing data center space in nearby Tustin, as well as San Diego, San Francisco and Oakland.

According to the press release, CRG West's Wilshire Annex data center is designed for "bandwidth-intensive and latency-sensitive networks," such as in the case of iland and its customers.

CRG West provides redundant dark fiber and DWDM access directly to the company's One Wilshire location, which includes over 300 international carriers and enterprise networks. iland customers can access iland's 10GB Ethernet IP network for cost-effective connections to Tier 1 backbones.

iland is transforming its 1,500 square feet of space to become the company's latest high availability hub, which will include access to iland's hosted VMware VI Enterprise Solutions.

Businesses can use the hosted VMware solution to host multiple operating systems and multiple applications locally and in remote locations, providing maximum performance, high availability, data protection and improved disaster recovery processes, while enabling organizations to reduce space, power and equipment costs. 

Additionally, the iland high availability hub will offer dedicated servers, managed SAN storage, managed network and security services, access to iland's Tier-1, high-speed IP network and carrier-neutral connectivity across a range of networks.

To further grow iland's West Coast expansion, iland recently hired Anthony Palmeri as the Western regional sales director. With over ten years industry experience throughout the California area, Palmeri will oversee the growing iland's West Coast operations and develop new and existing customer relationships.
