📅 - Welsh managed hosting provider eLINIA (elinia.com -> rackspace.com) announced on Thursday it has custom designed a scalable Internet platform for car manufacturer Honda UK's (honda.co.uk) website.
The news follows an announcement earlier this month, where eLINIA partnered with UK broadband provider BT, enabling eLINIA to offer network services including VPN and broadband connectivity, alongside its core hosting packages.
ELINIA's customized managed hosting platform provides Honda UK with the ability to maximizes the number of potential visitors to its website, which is expected to see a significant traffic spike following the launch of its latest model of the Honda Jazz.
Honda has high expectations for the new website, and according to Paul Kidd dealer systems support manager at Honda, the company has already seen an "increase in dwell time, page visits and home page conversions."
"As a world-leader in the very competitive car market, it is essential that Honda can support the level of traffic it attracts during high-profile campaigns," says James Carnie, technical architect at eLINIA. "Working to an extremely tight timescale, we've created a solution that caters for the fact that downtime is not an option."
The eLINIA platform features a virtualized web front end, which the company can either scale up or down to suit its needs. eLINA has also provided Honda with a disaster recovery solution, which automatically routes traffic to a secondary data center if any issues arise at the primary site.
The customer win marks another high-profile company to host with eLINIA, which currently works with some of the world's most security conscious organisations, including government organisations and financial sector businesses.
The company recently launched its Amazon S3 cloud technology-based back-up and storage service for small and medium-sized businesses.
