Nov 11, 2008 : FiberNet Expands to Chicago and Miami
📅 - Interconnection services provider FiberNet Telecom Group (ftgx.com) has extended its network reach to Chicago and Miami, continuing the company's core strategy of interconnecting key carrier hotels across the country.
According to FiberNet's announcement, these two new network nodes are part of its four-part network expansion project that also includes increasing its network capacity in the New York metropolitian area market, deploying additional capacity in Los Angeles and extending its network to San Francisco.
"Network expansion into these critical markets was of prime importance for us," FiberNet business development Vice President John P. Dowd said in a statement. "With these extensions, we can now meet our customers' demand for expanded network reach."
The Chicago and Miami nodes are comprised of multiple wavelengths letting FiberNet deliver its full suite of transport and conversion services including the exchange of traffic over multiple networks. FiberNet's customized connectivity infrastructure provides high-bandwidth, fiber-optic connectivity to interconnect multiple carrier and customer networks. Each network extension is fully interconnected with all of FiberNet's data centers and colocation facilities, including the premium New York carrier hotel located at 60 Hudson Street.
