📅 - Mezeo Software Corporation (mezeo.com) has lauched version two of its Mezeo Personal Cloud Storage file storage and collaboration platform, helping service providers quickly break into the online file storage and collaboration market by offering their own branded file service solution.
According to the company's announcement this week, the Mezeo platform allows cloud file storage and advanced collaboration capabilities to be implemented on a web host or other service provider's existing infrastructure, giving them an instant gateway into the online file storage and collaboration market, projected to generate $250 billion over next five years.
"The availability of the Mezeo Personal Cloud Storage platform enables service providers to immediately gain entry into a market that is experiencing explosive growth, with a solution built upon proven technology," Mezeo Software chief executive officer Steve Lesem said in a statement. "At Mezeo, we firmly believe that the wide-spread adoption of these services will only occur if these services are offered by trusted partners such as ISPs, telcos, mobile operators, cable companies and managed hosting providers."
Mezeo Personal Cloud Storage v.2 enables web-based storage and collaboration for computers and smartphones, letting users store, access or share files at anytime and from anywhere. The company expects these services to initially attract an early-adopter market of small and medium-sized businesses, and enthusiastic pro-sumers; however, as reputable service providers begin to add these services with wide appeal, the market, they say, will expand to nearly everyone.
"We expect that in the coming year, every hosting provider will understand the importance of offering their customers cloud storage/collaboration services," Mezeo spokesperson Dan Keeney said. "Developing it from scratch will take months or years at a cost of millions of dollars. Or they can immediately deploy such a service today under their own brand with Mezeo."
Mezeo also intends to work with service providers, helping them with everything from building pricing models to developing marketing strategies. The platform is available for a flat licensing fee then a revenue-share on the back end per user, which ensures Mezeo's success is tied to their clients' successes.
Mezeo vice president of marketing Dave Lopez said, "Dedicated and managed hosting providers have already shown great interest in providing this to their current customers as a means of providing incredible value as well as to generate new revenue streams through new customers and through their own shared hosting reseller network. The value chain, margins and the fact they can do this immediately makes it very attractive to this market."
