Nov 11, 2008 : Cryptography Firm Gets Funding
📅 - Online authentication solutions provider GlobalCrypto (globalcrypto.com) announced on Tuesday it has closed a round of equity financing and opened its corporate headquarters in the Atlanta Technology Development Center on the Georgia Tech campus.
The equity investment was led by Imlay Investments and Ridgewood Advisors, and will contribute to further developing the company's RealMe suite of authentication products including single sign-on for multiple web applications, one-click e-commerce checkout and applications for mobile device authentication.
The Atlanta Technology Development Center seed fund also participated in the round.
"We're very pleased to have Sig Mosley and Steve Chaddick lead this round of financing and excited about our move into the ATDC where we now have access to a tremendous amount of resources," says Todd Merrill, CEO of GlobalCrypto.
Web applications using GlobalCrypto's RealMe strong authentication software are able to securely authenticate users, reduce fraud attacks, comply with industry security requirements and provide real-time fraud detection and reporting while offering end-users a simplified solution for safeguarding their online transactions and identities.
Perhaps most intriguing aspect about GlobalCrypto's RealMe suite is that it operates without using any tokens, hardware, login requirements, or SSL certificates, providing an alternative authentication solution for users.
RealMe suite embeds cryptographic information within digital images, and then exchanges parts of those images between a user and web application before allowing a transaction to proceed.
The company says its RealMe suit is "virtually fraud-proof, easy to install and user friendly," making it suitable for any web application that exchanges confidential information with its users, including e-commerce, financial institutions, trading platforms, credit card companies and alternative payment solutions, as well as companies facing regulatory pressures such as HIPPA, SOX, PCI and GLBA.

The company won the gold medal in the ATDC's 2007 CapVenture contest and was recently named by the Technology Association of Georgia as one of the 16 most innovative companies in the state.
