📅 October 22, 2001 - Mediacom Communications Corporation (mediacomcc.com)announced that Excite@Home (excite.com) has agreed to resume provisioning Mediacom's new high-speed Internet customers. The agreement enables Mediacom to continue adding new high-speed Internet customers in existing markets and introducing this service in new markets.

Mediacom Communications is the 8th largest cable television operator in theUnited States, with cable systems passing approximately 2.6 million homesand serving approximately 1.6 million basic subscribers in 23 states. Thecompany offers a wide array of broadband products and services, includingtraditional video services, digital television and high-speed Internetaccess. The company was founded in July 1995 to acquire and operate cabletelevision systems serving principally non-metropolitan markets in theUnited States.
