Mar, 2002 : Digital River Backs Fonix E-Commerce Operation

📅 March 27, 2002 - Fonix Corporation (fonix.com), a provider of natural-user interface solutions for wireless and mobile devices, Internet and telephony systems and vehicle telematics, announced on Tuesday that it has signed an e-commerce agreement with outsourced provider Digital River.

According to the agreement, Digital River will manage and host the company's consumer e-commerce Web site. Fonix says it expects the collaboration to help the company reach a larger market of consumers and generate greater awareness for its product catalog.

The Fonix e-commerce site, says the company, offers customers Fonix speech recognition and text-to-speech products, including iSpeak, a program that converts text to natural, human-sounding speech; TimeTalk Alert, a scheduling assistant that reads appointments from a pocket PC; TimeTalk, a pocket PC product that announces the time at intervals; and Commander, a speech recognition program that allows users to launch applications using voice commands.
In addition to hosting and managing the site, says Fonix, Digital River will provide strategy development, transaction management, electronic software delivery, e-returns, 24-hour customer service, fraud prevention and e-marketing services.
