May, 2002 : (e-Commerce)3, Miva Partner in Online Check Payment
📅 - Online payment system developer (e-Commerce)3 (valutech.com) and e-commerce platform provider Miva Corp. (Miva.com) announced on Thursday that they have formed a strategic partnership designed to enable Miva Merchant users to accept customer check payments.
(e-Commerce)3, say the companies, has integrated its online check processing system e-ValuCheck with the Miva Merchant storefront development and management system, enabling merchants to process check payments quickly and securely. Miva says its payment portfolio now provides merchants with a complete payment solution, as the ability to accept check payments online compliments the Miva Merchant platform's existing support for online credit cart processing. The company says this opens a market of 120 million Americans that do not have credit cards or available credit. "We are excited to be working with Miva as a technology partner," says Chet Andrews, president of (e-Commerce)3. "The e-ValuCheck solution is an ideal way for Miva to provide a total payment solution to its merchants, allowing them to increase sales by offering a payment mechanism to consumers that do not have available credit, as well as providing a substantial savings over credit card processing." The e-ValuCheck system is a secure, self-contained processing center that handles check clearing, returned items processing and bank fees automatically while funds are deposited directly into the merchant's bank account for the completed transactions. The system is available to merchants for a monthly account fee and a fixed per-transaction cost, and users can begin accepting check payments 24 hours after sign-up.
