📅 - Global communications provider WorldCom (worldcom.com) said today that IT Web site network TechTarget had selected WorldCom to provide colocation services for its network of IT Web sites.
TechTarget, which has more than two million registered users, provides IT-focused news, resources and search capabilities through 19 Web sites, more than 100 e-mail newsletters, and 30-plus live Webcasts each month. Under the agreement, TechTarget has placed its Web servers in a WorldCom Internet Data Center with direct scalable bandwidth connections to WorldCom's global network. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. "It's vital that our sites are continuously available to users worldwide," said Sean Tierney, vice president of product development and technology for TechTarget. "Our audience, IT experts with uncompromising standards for Web site performance, demand 24x7 access to our content, and we chose WorldCom to ensure we meet these standards." TechTarget's more than 700 advertisers include IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Sun Microsystems and Intel.

A new plan proposed by the company's trustees said the customer funds would keep the company's network operational through June and possibly July.
