😠 They completely suck. They sold the vps accoutns and then shut down my email server without prior notice. They stopped responding to support tickets. The new company didn't move the server. Don't even think about hosting with them.

😠 They suck!
They suck!

They are the Only people who have trouble dealing with recurring payments which I setup, and verified with them that it's working, and have their support email proving they were satisfied. It seems that is not the case no matter what I did to try and resolve it.

Anyhow, they shut me down, no email, no phone-call, nothing! Just like that.

Fortunately, this was a backup server as I would never use a disreputable (not allowed to say the real "inappropriate" word) company like this for a primary server, still, all my rsync scripts and stuff are no longer there. "

😠 The worst vps ever!
I had a terrible time with this service.
I only ran 2 sites on a Vps and my sites were constantly down. Asked for refund 2 days in billing period answer was no that is against or policy.
So your sites won't work and you cannot get your money back. Do Not Use is my advise.
Cheap does not = good

BurstNET Technologies, Inc. is a world leader in internet solutions and webhosting. The privately held company, based in Pennsylvania, services clientele in over 100 countries around the world. BurstNET began in 1991 as a computer hardware/software retail firm and distributorship. Shortly after incorporating in late 1996, the company quickly made the transition to providing internet services. BurstNET established itself in the industry prior to the explosion of the web hosting market. The company has experienced exceptional growth and currently hosts 5000+ dedicated servers and co-located machines, 5000+ Virtual Private Servers (VPS), and millions of websites.

BurstNET helps individuals and businesses establish a presence on the Internet with low-cost solutions, and offers services that allow them to seamlessly migrate to higher end services as their internet presence matures and expands. BurstNET has pioneered the evolution of cost-effective Web hosting services, and is known to provide the highest published bandwidth allowances in the virtual hosting market. BurstNET offers comprehensive Web Hosting solutions, including shared hosting, dedicated, and colocation services.

The primary revenue source of the firm is derived from providing clientele with a presence on the Internet in the form of a Web site. A Web site, which consists of information and data unique to each particular client that is stored on a computer (a.k.a "server"), allows the client to make information concerning its business, operations, products and services widely available over the Internet to other Internet users. Typically, BurstNET provides the high-end computers where our clients' Web site information is stored on a shared basis with other clientele. Larger clientele may opt for a whole computer system dedicated to provide their needs for large capacity usage and higher visitor traffic. For clientele with the resources and knowledge to provide/operate their own computer equipment and software, BurstNET offers facility space leasing, providing them with space to house their equipment, in our Network Data Center. Finally, BurstNET offers an expanding menu of extra features and add-ons, such as E-Commerce (Enabling our clients to conduct transactions with their customers and vendors over the Internet), Domain Name Registration Services Nation-Wide Dial-Up & Regional Wireless and Dedicated Access (Internet connections), and Reseller Services (Anonymous & branded backend marketing of BurstNET services).

With innovations in control panel technology, and hosting package offerings, BurstNET continues to stay one step ahead of the competition. The high quality packages offered are considered some of the best values in the industry. BurstNET prides itself with a high level of technical support presented to clients. Case in point: The company was one of the first hosting firms to offer real-time ICQ & AIM Messaging and Chat support services. BurstNET is one of the few hosting firms to offer both Unix & Windows NT solutions. The company's data backup and storage methods allow for quick recovery in the form of daily, weekly and monthly files in case of data loss. All BurstNET equipment and servers are owned by the company and housed in the state of the art BurstNET Network Operations Center (NOC) in Scranton PA, USA. There are thousands of Web Hosting companies in the industry, mostly smaller firms, but very few actual Data Centers. BurstNET is one of a handful of Web Hosting companies that actually owns and maintains its own Data Center.

The International Data Corporation (IDC) forecasts web hosting market yearly revenues increasing from $4.8 billion at the end of 2001 to nearly $20.8 billion by the end of 2006*. U.S. co-location hosting market will increase from nearly $1.2 billion in 2001 to more than $2.6 billion in 2006*. Small to medium sized companies find an outsourced hosting solution more cost-effective, because they typically lack the technology expertise, IT resources, capital, personnel, or ability to bear the time-to-market and operating risks to install, maintain and monitor their own web servers and Internet connectivity. The cost to install and maintain a web server in-house for a business can sometimes cost 100x that of an outsourced solution with a Web hosting company such as BurstNET.

Along with our end-user/retail clientele, the company has an extensive network of resellers and web developers that market BurstNET services. Many Web Hosting companies private label BurstNET services to provide their own line of Web Hosting and Internet solutions. BurstNET is the back-end to many well-known firms in the industry.

MANAGED DEDICATED SERVERS
BurstNET Managed Dedicated Servers are a perfect solution for popular sites, a large company, an ecommerce website, or reseller/hosting providers. Hosting services on a shared server are sometimes not enough to allow you the kind of control, configuration, power, and accessibility that you require. When such is the case, you need to consider a dedicated server solution. You can fully control account setups, software installations, user modifications, and data backups. For a lower price than some Web Hosting companies' larger packages, with BurstNET you can operate your own Dedicated Server!

BurstNET will handle building the server to your specifications, install the operating system, and configure ordered system software. BurstNET Dedicated Servers are built with Intel processors, and only major name brand components. BurstNET will maintain all hardware, and monitor your server 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

🏢 Data Center

The 11,000 square foot BurstNET Data Center facility contains everything needed to ensure your mission-critical Internet operation is functioning at the highest perfomance levels. A full list of features/services in usage in the Network Operations Center is found below.

Network Operations Center Features

Connectivity
The network is connected via 10-Gigabit Ethernet Wavelength handoff(s) on redundant/dual-path DWDM fiber-optic transport connections to XO Communications and Zayo Bandwidth.

Failsafe Power Supply
Our Network Operations Center currently has 1200amps 480V & 800amps 208V 3-Phase power currently available from PP&L (Pennsylvania Power & Electric). With multiple fuel tanks on-site, the generators are capable of running without refueling for approximately 48 hours.

Security
Restricted access to the Network Operations Center is monitored by qualified personnel 24 hours a day, every day. Visitors and clientele are only allowed on-site if escorted by Network Operations Center staff. The entire Network Operations Center is monitored, ensuring prompt response and thorough coverage to fire or security alarms. We supply all our Network Operations Center customers with advanced firewall, encryption, intrusion detection and other security measures. BurstNET maintains a full digital video surveillance system of the Network Operations Center, with full on-site and off-site recording.

Environment
Precision-controlled raised floor air conditioning systems protect and cool mission-critical servers and equipment in the Network Operations Center. The facility is controlled by multiple 30-Ton APC/Airflow, 20-Ton Liebert, & 20-Ton Data Aire dual-compresser redundant systems. These systems provide a virtually dust-free and particle-free computing environment, with temperature, humidity, and air-quality regulation.

Backup Systems
BurstNET automatically provides backup data services to all shared hosting clientele. Services are also optionally available to all dedicated, virtual private server (vps), and co-location clientele. Windows and Linux systems store zipped copies of server system files and client data files, for simple server rebuilding. Off-site/remote backup services are available as well.

24x7x365 Monitoring
The Network Operations Center uses industry-standard SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and provides round-the-clock monitoring of all hardware, including routers, switches, UPS systems, and servers. The Network Operations Center also monitors power, environmental factors (such as temperature and humidity), generator status, and network connectivity. All critical services/ports can be monitored, including FTP, HTTP, SMTP, HTTPS, SSH, TELNET, and POP3. We provide network monitoring of the Local Area Network, Internet connectivity (all routers, switches, and wiring), and the Internet backbone via MRTG. Our close and constant communication with our upstream backbone providers ensures that our customers have constant access to high-performance Internet connections. Failure on any monitoring service results in audible alarms, LAN messages, and alerting our staff paging system. BurstNET offers remote cold boot hardware for dedicated server and co-location clients, with private, password protected, web based access.

Software
The Network Operations Center utilizes the CentOS Linux operating system on the majority of servers present. CentOS Linux is a highly configurable system, and well known for speed and stability. CentOS Linux servers have been documented to remain operating for up to one year at a time without even requiring a reboot. The Apache Web Server nicely compliments the CentOS Linux Operating System. The majority of remaining servers operate on the Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server operating system, with Internet Information Server Web Server. Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server provides a system that simplifies database, application, and visual effect programming. BurstNET also supports FreeBSD, Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian operating systems. CPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, vePortalw/OpenVZ, & Virtuozzo control panels compliment the default operatins systems.

Hardware
The Network Operations Center utilizes ONLY top name brand hardware. The network is centered on Cisco 6500-series border/core routers and 4900M switches, connecting via Gigabit Ethernet (1000mbps) to the Cisco 6500-series aggregation switches. Hewlett Packard Procurve & Extreme Summit 24/48/4 managed distribution switches comprise the power and stability of the internal network, operating at 10/100/1000 mbps switched ethernet speeds. The network is protected from Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks via Cisco Guard protection systems. Hardware utilized in the facility is comprised of name brands, including the following: Intel, Asus, Supermicro, AMD, Adaptec, Cisco, Kingston, Micron, Crucial, 3Ware, Maxtor, Abit, Western-Digital, Seagate, Hitachi, Dell, Realtec, & Belkin, APC, Tripp-Lite, Powerware, & Liebert. Facility monitoring is provided by a Geovision Digital Video System over Sony & Panasonic CCTV cameras.

😠 Beware the VPS!!!
Initially I was happy with the service, but about a week ago a bunch of Windows updates pushed to the servers brought everything to a complete and total standstill, and I was unable to start the server at all. Email to the support desk got me a stern message:

"*** We ask that you DO NOT try to restart updates or reboot the service. This will only complicate the situation and may lead to extended inaccessibility."

Yeah, that helped a bunch, so it took 4 days, and the updates still have not finished?Support ticket to the Billing department has gone unanswered.

😠 Their plans suck. The OS images are faulty. CPU is weak. Nodes are overloaded.

Stay FAR away from BurstNET. These crooks also don't refund your money, they give you the runaround, and then finally do after you push them and your time wasted.

An INC 500 company my ass. Do a google street view of their "data center", it's some shady building that looks like some gang hideout.

I should have done my research BEFORE doing business with these guys.

Sometimes when prices are too good to be true, it is really too good to be true. Most likely all the positive reviews out there are shills; probably the same employees writing lame excuses/whining to any complaints on forums from customers.

😠 Severe downtimes and high server load. I have 9 VPS-es purchased from Burst that goes down daily, and they reply to the tickets that they had to reboot.

The websites are damn slow always and I lose traffic as well as customers per google analytics which probably is due to overloaded servers.

uptime I get is less than 75% - terrible for any customer.

If you choose to save few cents, remember you are losing your business and your dreams.

😠 They claim to deliver servers within 24-48 hours, however it took over 4 business days, 2 weekend days (6 days total) to receive my order. The server they delivered to me was littered with blacklistings which caused me to be unable to deliver legitimate email to anyone including my grandmother. I emailed them from the email address I signed up with explaining this, to which they never responded. I emailed them a second, then third, then fourth time. Each time I received ticket numbers, but never received a response. I finally put in a dispute with paypal, after which they sent me several invoices for filing the dispute. They claimed they never received my emails and continued forward with what I can only call extortion fees. I forwarded them copies of each of the emails I sent. In fact, I forwarded the same email to them over 13 times. I received an email from their ticket system that the emails were all merged into one ticket, however that ticket never received a reply either. I have

😠 Nocster is the worst company ever, i can't believe i scape from limestonenetworks to them, i was really excited by the prices of the Q9300 and i act with impulse, that was my biggest mistake on my hosting company, that resulted on the bankrupcy of my company.
They are worst on support, support of them is like shit, they are snoobish and suck your money and energy like the buddy said on the last review.
They caused me serious damages.
With limestonenetworks in 2 years with them i've lost only 4 dedicated server customers because of end of project and one because he wasn't abble to pay anymore.
But with burst.net i've losted every month about 2-3 customer because their poor support and bandwidth that is like hell.
They let servers for more than 6 days offline because an HDD change.
They think that is normal a server be 6 days offline because an HDD change.
They think is normal your main server be offline because they are so incompetent that they don't sent invoice emails or [read more...]

Then check, they will give you only 100,000 Inode where as other company give you more than 11,000,000 Inode like solarvps and others. So never buy from these poor scam host. Not only that they will give you 1CPU and the processor is 1MB L2 cache based. Your site will going die with overload.

Secondly, if you see the server is already overloaded. I get download speed in peak hour only 20-30kb/sec. where as other host I get more than 200-300kb/sec. plus. This scam company told me that other client on their vps node take their backup so that the server got slow...!! How scam vps provider, sucks.

😠 The price attracted me - but you get what you pay for. I had the VPS plan, and it ran fair for what it was - with the usual issues that a company who does not know what they are doing has (security stuff) - yesterday, i get an email telling me that there was "abuse" having to do with my server an that it has been over 24 hours. They suspended th account, which i understand - if it is spewing spam then unplug it, but when I told them I was sorry but I did not get the 1st email, they told me to bad, played the TOS card, and refused to even let me get any data off the server. They also wanted a $50 fee for this mystery abuse, which according to the headers, has nothing to do with any domain or email i have ever owned or even heard of.

Their support is abysmal at best. I have NEVER got anyone on the phone, and as far as tickets, they answer them with such a bad attitude it is not even worth using it.

Of course they refuse to give me a refund AND they refuse to let me use the [read more...]

😠 Below is a summary of our experiences with Burst.net, as sent to them in a Request to Close & Refund everything we had taken the time to link to them as they could do little but charge us more and more money.... I provide it to others as a warning of what you risk getting yourselves into. (BTW, please do check their BBB Score of 'F' and the fact they are nearing as many complaints against them in 36 months as they have employees!)

I scarcely know where to begin....

On the Outside, you seemed like an Unbelievably Amazing Service for us to utilize. Offering the Full Range of Hosted-Solutions, almost unlimited Customization, and unbelievably Low Prices --- with so many Clients of ours looking at various Hosted-Offerings we've even considered opening a Subsidiary that does nothing but Hosted Solutions for all our Pent-Up Demand.

That will more than likely go through, though, it will NOT be with Burst.net under any circumstances.

😠 Very poor service, you can't reach anyone on the phone when you have an issue.

They shutdown my server without notice, and when I contacted them to check the console, it took 2 hours to respond for a reboot request. When someone finally responded they said my server was shut down due to not responding to a complaint. Well no ticket was created for this abuse, just an email was sent they said. My last abuse a ticket was created and resolved was right away. Well since I never got that email they said they sent, it cost me 50 bucks to turn my service back on.

So they have no record of this abuse, and they get 50 bucks.

I would highly look elsewhere, yeah they are cheap but you get what you pay for, bad service!

😠 First, I was a long term customer that paid Nocster over $2000 until they had network issues in 2005. My server went down for days and so I moved to EV1Servers. Also, I am trying to buy a house to this is particularly annoying.

After I left in 2005, I came back, or at least tried to, in 2007. This turned out to be the worst mistake I have ever made with hosting. I signed up for their Virtuozzo server for like $250 per month. So after 3 weeks and numerous trouble tickets it still did not work properly. I then asked for the money back from the server and the next month that they had already billed. They refused even though their policy CLEARLY states in section 4.2 called "Acceptance of BurstNET™ Services" which states "Client shall have the right to evaluate the BurstNET™ Services as set forth in Exhibit A for a period of thirty (30) days after initiation of the
BurstNET™ Services, at the charge, if any, set forth in Exhibit E or elsewhere offered by BurstNET™ and confirmed in the [read more...]

😠 When the server goes down which is quite often, it is next to near impossible to get support. Currently have over 50 sites hosted with them and am currently looking into moving my hosting provider.
