📅 - Communication firm Primus Telecommunications Canada Inc. (primustel.ca) announced on Friday that it has acquired Internet service provider Passport Online Inc. for undisclosed terms.

"Our strong financial performance makes it possible for us to expand our presence in the Canadian business Internet market by opportunistically adding customers and services. At a time of uncertainty for many telecommunications providers and their customers in Canada, it is clear that Primus Canada is focused on strengthening the services it delivers to its customers and is determined to grow its market share."
Passport Online has been delivering Internet services to Canadian businesses since 1994, and was the winner of the Conusmer's Choice Award for best local business ISP in the Greater Toronto Area for five consecutive years from 1997 to 2002. The company's client base consists of small and medium-sized business using both dial-up and high-speed DSL services, as well as Web hosting and other data center services.
