Oct 4, 2002 : HP Updates Routing Switch Series

📅 - Computer equipment manufacturer HP (hp.com) announced on Thursday that it has introduced seven high-performance networking modules for the HP Procurve Routing Switch 9300m series that provide Gigabit port density, wire-speed network traffic accounting and 10-Gigabit Ethernet bandwidth.

Equipping HP Procurve Routing Switch 9300m series devices with the modules, says HP, helps enterprise customers resolve performance, security, network traffic management and capacity needs.
"HP continues to find more and more customers who are looking to Procurve networking products to provide long-term solutions for their evolving network applications," says John McHugh, vice president and general manager, HP Procurve Networking Business. "We have found that network managers are increasingly interested in networking solutions with dramatically lower cost of ownership from a supplier with a high degree of longevity."
HP says its new Enhanced Performance (EP) technology-based modules provide the highest Gigabit port densities available for fiber and copper deployments and support jumbo frames on Gigabit and 10-Gigabit ports for remote backup and disaster recovery services. The EP-based modules also provide sFlow traffic accounting technology.
