Dec, 2002 : Comodo, E-Soft Offer Free Security Audits

📅 December 2, 2002 - Internet security specialist Comodo Ltd. (comodogroup.com) said on Monday that it has partnered with privately-owned Internet security consulting firm E-Soft (e-softinc.com) to integrate SecuritySpace security audits into Comodo's SSL and Web identity assurance offerings.

Through the partnership, says Comodo, customers of the company's InstantSSL brand and TrustLogo Web identity assurance technology will receive free automated audits designed to indentify up to 1,124 potential security risks. The audit also involves the identification of appropriate corrective measures.
"Our partnership with E-Soft will provide a very important enhancement of our SSL and TrustLogo product portfolio," says Paul Tourret, managing director of Comodo "Free security auditing will add considerable value to our SSL products, and the associated benefits will undoubtedly have great appeal to all our customers. As well as delivering professional SSL solutions, Comodo can now offer customers complete peace of mind regarding the security of their networks. Furthermore, by making such tests available at no cost, we ensure that Comodo continues to make security affordable."
Comodo says its SSL certificate and TrustLogo customers are eligible for a free standard security audit, including: a scan of over 1,500 ports of an IP for possible Trojans; a full system examination with 1,124 vulnerability tests; a comprehensive report on vulnerabilities and open ports, and corrective advice; and a ranking of results in comparison to other audits.

Netcraft (netcraft.com), a UK-based systems and management consultancy, found that the number of Web sites hosted at domain networks such as Cable & Wireless, Global Crossing and above.net declined between 20 and 30 per cent over the past year.
