📅 - End-to-end IT and business services provider CGI Group Inc. (cgi.com) announced on Monday that it has completed the acquisition of INSpire Insurance Solutions Inc. for a total of $5.4 million in cash.
CGI says deal, originally announced on November 14, 2002, was completed for a total of $5.4 million in cash. The Fort Worth-based firm produces annual revenues of $26 million, and, as part of the acquisition, approximately 265 INSpire professionals in five offices around the United States are joining CGI. INSpire, says CGI, provides claims and policy administration outsourcing services as well as software and consulting services for property and casualty insurance carriers. "The closing of this acquisition marks another very important milestone in CGI's growth commitment to the insurance vertical and to expanding our BPO capability," says Michael Roach, president and chief operating officer for CGI.

Netcraft (netcraft.com), a UK-based systems and management consultancy, found that the number of Web sites hosted at domain networks such as Cable & Wireless, Global Crossing and above.net declined between 20 and 30 per cent over the past year. The worst decreases were sustained by digex.com and psi.net, which lost more than 75 per cent of their hosted sites. Concurrently, smaller companies such as Dialtone/Interland Managed Hosting and Ratiokontakt increased their hosted sites by more than 30 per cent.
