Dec 10, 2002 : C&W Unveils Global Management Changes
📅 - Communications carrier Cable & Wireless said on Tuesday that it has made a number of changes to the management of Cable & Wireless Global that will immediately take effect.
Cable & Wireless Global's CEO Don Reed will be based in the US full-time. There, he will support Graham Wallace, CEO of Cable & Wireless, in dealing with government, regulatory and other corporate matters.
While Reed will remain on the board of Cable & Wireless, his current operational responsibilities for Cable & Wireless Global will be reassigned, says the company.
Adrian Chamberlain, the current director of group strategy and corporate development, will take on responsibility for Cable & Wireless Global, not including the US business and the finance function, and will become CEO global services and Europe/Asia. He will maintain responsibility for group strategy and business development.
CEO of Cable & Wireless America, Simon Cunningham, will report to Graham Wallace, who will assume a more direct involvement in the business's restructuring in the US.
Donald Muir, CFO global, will report to group finance director David Prince, who will assume direct responsibility for global finance in addition to his responsibility for group finance.
The company says the reallocation of responsibilities is designed to ensure a detailed focus on the successful implementation of Cable & Wireless's recently-announced restructuring efforts.
