Jun, 2003 : Veritas Introduces Server Provisioning Software

📅 - Veritas Software Corporation (veritas.com) introduced today Veritas OpForce 3.0, its automated server provisioning software. Based on technology developed by recently acquired Jareva Technologies, OpForce 3.0 reduces the time, costs and resources required to deploy servers in IT environments by provisioning resources such as servers, switches and load balancers across computer networks.

OpForce 3.0 features automatic discovery of IT resources, centralized management, role-based administration and authentication, and automated scheduling for provisioning.
"With the release of Veritas OpForce, we are expanding our management capabilities beyond the storage environment and into servers and other network devices," said Mark Bregman, executive vice president of product operations, Veritas Software. "The Veritas value proposition remains the same - our software helps organizations meet service levels regardless of which hardware platforms or operating systems they choose."
OpForce 3.0 supports Solaris, IBM AIX, Red Hat Linux and Windows platforms.
Pricing starts at $7,500 per Veritas OpForce management server and $500 per managed CPU.
Veritas Software is headquartered in Mountain View, California.
