📅 June 24, 2003 - NetNation Communications (netnation.com -> hostway.com) announced today that it has been chosen by Sporg Internet Corporation (sporg.com) to provide managed Web hosting services for the organization's Web site. Sporg Internet Corporation is a provider of online event registration and planning services.

NetNation will provide Sporg with a range of managed services, including data back-up, load balancing, intrusion detection, database management and server maintenance.
Oracle and IBM Websphere Application Server will power its registration engine.
?It is more cost effective for us to have NetNation host and manage our servers,? said Jeremy Freeman, chief technical officer of Sporg. ?Our Web site powers our registration business. NetNation's experience is a requirement we need.?
Based in Vancouver, Canada, NetNation is a provider of Web hosting and domain registration services.
Chicago-based Hostway recently purchased NetNation in a $10 million deal. The transaction is expected to close in September.
